![]() I was terrified/nervous/anxious before and during the plane ride. This experience checked every box for me. For the first time, my tandem instructor Doug taught me how to read an altimeter (and got to wear one), how to do small maneuvers in free fall, and got to pull the cord! It didn't stop there either, Doug taught me more all the way down on the canopy ride letting me steer and teaching me how to use landmarks to direct my descent.Ĭouldn't recommend more and can't wait to go back. If it's your 5th (like my experience) they go above and beyond to make what is normally a "do-nothing" jump to what feels like a beginners class for AFF (if that's what you want, of course). If it's your first time they take every step to make it a memorable experience for you at your own comfort level. From start to finish my group and I felt very welcomed from the check in desk, tandem instructors, to the pilot of the plane. ![]() Then there's the community DZ where it feels like you're just going to starbucks to hang out, everyone is sociable, and you just want to retire there. There seems to be 2 types of DZs you can encounter - the tourist DZ where you'll have a good time but it's not personal, it's rushed, they cram video and photos down your throat for a profit etc. Midwest freefall is an amazing drop zone! There are a lot of factors that change the experience you man have when you tandem jump and these guys have it right. We just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for changing us forever!! Our lives will never, ever be the same thanks to you guys!! An amazement, a bliss, a majestic, unimaginable experience. The energy I felt traveling throughout my body, strongest at my chest as if it coming out of my heart with a calmness. The beauty surrounding us after jumping out. Words con not describe our feelings and emotions at all after our adventure. They know how to turn others fear and terror into a focus of the amazement about to come. They also brought the exact types of different energy we both needed surrounding us, tailored to our individuality. They explained things in detail, answering every question we had. Let me start with the comfort and ease our partners, Paul and Robert, brought to us. Again, if you are considering it, let me urge you to try it! You'll be glad you did.Last Saturday was the most incredible day ever, which includes something we’ve never experienced in our entire lives! My daughter turned 18, so she and I did this for her birthday….1st timers here. And the ear pressure builds quickly, since you are coming from 13k feet to zero in a matter of minutes. I don't know if you'll be permitted to wear earplugs on a tandem jump, but I saw experienced jumpers with them. I'd say the worst part of the whole thing is it's LOUD when free falling due to the rush of the air. I found it to be less scary than I anticipated, and very pleasant. If you even think you may be wanting to skydive, just DO IT. The plane was perfect and designed for the task. ![]() The facility is well suited, the main building has plenty of room, with an attached large room where the chutes are packed right there in plain sight (should you be curious to watch the process). Everything was explained clearly, expedited but not rushed. All five of us never felt ignored, out of place or intimidated, as much as possible considering the nature of the sport. ![]() I doubt it depends heavily which instructor you jump with, they all seemed dedicated to the cause. There is an evident spirit of teamwork at M.F. ![]() This is a review for Midwest Freefall overall. My first tandem jump with an instructor was awesome. ![]()
